Make sure to never ignore the windshield wipers of your vehicle. Now that spring is here, there are several parts and components that you should have inspected on your vehicle. One part to inspect are the windshield wipers. As you look at them, make sure they are in the best operating condition. Check the rubber blade to ensure that there are no rips or damage to them. If there is, then the wiper will not be able to clear away the windshield as efficiently as it otherwise should. You may need to clean them, depending how much dirt and road grime is present. Cleaning them can be as simply as taking warm soapy water. You can also take rubbing alcohol and clean each wiper. This will help the wipers to be efficient at cleaning the windshield. If you notice an issue, make sure to bring it in so we can inspect it for you.

Notice how the Wipers Operate

You may also notice signs of poor windshield wipers based on how they are operating. If they chatter or make smear marks against the windshield, there could be an issue. This will indicate that the wipers are no longer in the best condition possible. When you notice noise when the wipers operate, make sure to have them replaced. Doing so will help to remove any rain, dirt, or road grime that may be on the windshield of your vehicle.

Remember the Rear Wiper

As you check the windshield wipers, also remember to check the rear one as well. These can become brittle because they are not used as often as the front ones. The sun can also cause them to dry out. Make sure that the blade is not deteriorating. If you are not sure about the condition for them, you can make an appointment with us. That way we can inspect the windshield wipers and the rear one as well for you.
