One way to notice if there is an issue with the brakes is if you start to hear a grinding noise coming from them. This is an indication of a serious issue and should be brought in for an inspection as soon as possible. There could be a couple different reasons for brake grinding, so it is important so we can inspect it.
One reason is if the brake rotor is making contact with part of the caliper of the brake system. This is caused from extreme wear to the brake pads and brake rotors of the vehicle. If you ignore this issue, it can do further damage to the vehicle and brake rotors. It will also result in a costly repair bill. Another reason for the grinding noise is if a foreign object like a stone gets stuck in the calipers. This results in a constant grinding or screeching sound when the vehicle is in motion.
Another noise you may also notice is a rattling noise. This can happen when you let up off the pedal. This is usually caused by the brake pads of the vehicle. The brake pads may rattle sometimes because of the heat expansion. If the rattle becomes consistent, make an appointment to bring it in. The rattle noise should also never be present when your foot is on the brake pedal. By having it inspected, we can make sure the vehicle is as reliable as possible when you drive it.
