safe

When you drive safe on the road, you can help prevent the chance of an accident occurring. You will want to always be aware of those others on the road, and where they are. If the traffic is heavy and fast moving, you will want to be aware of those who zip in and out of lanes. If there are several lanes, you will have to be aware of drivers on both sides of you. Also make sure that you signal and give an appropriate amount of time before changing lanes. This allows others to know where you are turning or driving to. You can check the blinkers at home by safely parking and turning on the left turn signals. Get out of the vehicle and check the headlights and taillights. Then make sure to do the same for the right turn signals.

Stay safe by turning on the Headlights

You will also want to turn the headlights on when it starts to rain or if it is dark. Even if you can still see well, it will help others to see you. Remember, if you have to use the windshield wipers, than the lights should be on. You will also want to notice if the windshield wipers start to perform poorly when you operate and use them. When they are no longer removing water and clearing it off the windshield, make sure to have them replaced.

Leave enough space

Another tip is to make sure that you leave enough space between you and the vehicle ahead of you. If they need to slam on the brakes quickly, you need to allow enough room so you can stop safely. Avoid being distracted by looking at your phone, GPS, or even the radio. Accidents can happen in the blink of an eye, so you will want to make sure that you are always paying close attention to the road.
