The best way to make sure that your engine will not overheat while you are driving is to make sure that you are keeping enough coolant in your vehicle. Simply pull up the hood and look for the coolant reservoir. This is often close to the radiator. If you are not sure where it is located, you can consult your owner’s manual. This will also tell you exactly where to add more at and how you can tell when it is full. Do not overflow.
Regular Oil Changes are Important
Oil is highly important to the inner workings of an engine. Making sure that you have the right oil and the right amount is important to make sure that your engine will work properly at all times. You can check the oil yourself by pulling the dipstick. Simply clean the dipstick as it comes out of the oil reservoir and put it back in. When you pull it out the second time, you will be able to see how much oil is in your car. The stick will have a low line and a full line. Simply fill the oil until it gets to the fill line if you notice it is low. If you notice the oil is low more often, make sure to bring it in as soon as possible.
