Check each tire of your vehicle on a regular basis to help ensure that they are in the most ideal condition possible. Each tire should be properly inspected. The tires are the only part that will make direct contact with the surface of the road, so they should be ideal. You will want to check each tire to ensure that the air pressure is correct in them. If the air pressure is too low, then the tire could blow out when you are driving. Tires with too much air in them can pick up sharp objects or rocks on the road. Either of these extremes can lead to the tires failing and needing to be replaced sooner than they should.
Tread on the Tire
The tread on each tire should be inspected as well. Place a penny up side down in the groove of the tire to check for this. If you are able to see the top of Lincoln’s head, then the tread has worn down. This will then mean the tires cannot grip the surface of the road like they should. If it rains, you will notice poor handling and that the vehicle slides in one direction. You may also notice the vehicle hydroplanes when you drive as well. This can become extremely dangerous for you and drivers around you as well.
Also check the sidewalls of the tires. Check for cracks or any bulges on them as well. When there is damage to the tires that you can see, it will reduce the life of them as well. You can also bring the vehicle in and we can check each tire for you. If there is an issue, we can help advise you on the options you have for it. If the tires have been worn, then investing in a new set of tires is recommended. This will help keep your vehicle safe and also handle better when on the road.
