When you own a vehicle, you will want to keep it in the best condition possible. This includes bringing it in for regular maintenance, driving safely, and taking some time to inspect the parts and components before you drive. If you notice anything out of the norm with the vehicle, make sure to bring the vehicle in so we can inspect it for you. One thing that should not be overlooked is the oil. The oil is important because it helps to lubricate the engine of the vehicle. Without oil in the vehicle, the parts of the engine will start to wear down more quickly. This is because there will be friction as the parts have direct contact with one another.

When you check the oil, you will want to ensure it is at the proper levels indicated by the reservoir. This should be done when the vehicle is cool and not after driving it. If the oil is low, make sure to add in the proper amount. If you have to add oil often, it could indicate there is a leak somewhere in the system. Over time this can become more severe and a costly repair bill when you will need to repair it. You can bring the vehicle in and we can inspect it for you. This will help to ensure that the oil can lubricate parts as you drive on the road.

Also take a few minutes and inspect the transmission fluid. Without transmission fluid, the vehicle will not be able to shift smoothly into the gears. With time, this can lead to wear and tear on the transmission. When checking the fluid, make sure the vehicle has had time to warm up and is running so it can give you the most accurate reading of the amount. Along with check the transmission fluid, also check the brake and power steering fluid. Unlike the oil and transmission fluid, the vehicle will not use up the brake fluid or power steering fluid. The only way these two fluids decrease is if there is an issue with the vehicle. If you notice any tightness with the steering when you are driving, it could mean poor power steering. Having issues with the brakes may also mean that the brake fluid is running low. If you notice these are becoming low frequently, make an appointment to bring the vehicle in. This way we can inspect the fluid levels for you to ensure they are at the correct amount.
