Winter

In the winter, the weather and temperatures can affect your vehicle in one way, shape, or form. During times where the road may be slick, salt is put on the roadways. This will then get on your vehicle if you drive on it, or even if you are passing a plow some might get on your vehicle. If this stays on your vehicle, it can lead to rust and corrosion with time. One way to help prevent this is to make sure you wash your vehicle on a regular basis. Going to a car wash that also does the undercarriage will help remove the build up of salt and road grime. Not only will this help your vehicle look clean, but it will help prevent rust and corrosion as well.

Temperatures

The cold temperatures can also affect the air pressure in the tires. It will cause the tire to lose the air pressure more often than it does during the summer months. You will want to check the air pressure in the tires before you drive, or about an hour after driving. If you check the air pressure right after driving, it can give you a false reading. Aluminum rims can also affect the air pressure of the tires when it is cold. If a tire is losing air often, then make sure to contact us. We can set up an appointment to have the tires inspected. If there is an issue, we can advise you what options you have to repair it.

Warm up the Car

You will also want to make sure you allow a few extra minutes to warm up your car before you travel. This allows the vehicle to warm up the interior. While this is going on, make sure to scrape all the windows for your vehicle. This will allow the best visibility for you.
